It is our great pleasure to invite authors to submit scientific papers to the 7th International Forum on Shipping, Ports and Airports (IFSPA) 2014 to be held from 19th to 21st May 2014 in Hong Kong, China. The conference organiser, C.Y. Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies (ICMS) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University jointly organises IFSPA 2014 with the Chinese Maritime Research Institute (CMRI), Taiwan, IMC-Frank Tsao Maritime Library and Research & Development Centre (IMCC), Logistics Research Centre (LRC), and Shipping Research Centre (SRC). IFSPA is an annual international event devoted to shipping, air & port logistics, and supply chain management studies. It aims to provide an interactive platform for international academics and industry practitioners to discuss the popular issues related to global and regional maritime and aviation economics, policy and management.
The theme of IFSPA 2014 is "Sustainable Development in Shipping and Transport Logistics". Considering the growing environmental concerns, shipping and logistics should not only achieve financial performance, but should also promote sustainable development and social responsibility. There is an increasing recognition that sustainable development is playing a crucial role in strengthening business competitiveness and enhancing a companies' reputation. This year IFSPA 2014 will serve as an industry-wide initiative to discuss how to implement a sustainable balance of economic, environmental and social objectives in shipping and transport logistics. The industrial experts will also be invited to share their insights on the topic. Following the success of previous IFSPAs which attracted more than 600 participants from different countries and territories, we are expecting a wide range of attendees from the Asia-Pacific and other overseas regions to this event.
Interested parties are cordially invited to submit academic papers in English to IFSPA 2014. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers should have a clear theoretical base, supporting data, scientific analysis and be founded on sound knowledge on the topics concerned. Author(s) should have direct involvement in the study being reported and deliver a 15-20 minute presentation during the Conference. We are looking for papers focusing on (but not restricted to):

• Aviation; Airline Competition & Management; Airport Planning; Air Transport in the Asia-Pacific region
• Supply Chain Management; Operations Management; Transportation Research
• Environmental Management; Sustainable Management; Corporate Development and Social Responsibility
• Regulatory Policies and Business Initiatives for Addressing Sustainability Issues
Accepted papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings (with ISBN code) after the event. Selected quality papers will also be included in special issues of International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics (IJSTL), International Journal of Logistics Management (IJLM) and A Leading Journal in Transportation and Logistics Research which are SSCI indexed.
IFSPA 2014 Technical Tour will visit Modern Terminals Limited (MTL) on 21 May 2014 morning.
