Research in Transportation Business and Management is planning a volume for publication in September of 2016 on Low Cost Transport Operations–A Multimodal Approach to be Guest Edited by Lucy Budd and Stephen Ison.

The advent of Low Cost Carriers represents one of the most exciting and dynamic developments in transportation. The LCC model is not just an airline business model but has also been adapted and adopted by other transport operators, including companies involved in the provision of freight, logistics, rail, maritime (particularly cruise and ferry companies), and inter-city bus and express coach services. The aim of this Themed Volume is to investigate the present application and future evolution of low cost transport operations worldwide. It will consider all aspects of the low cost business model and how it is applied in different transport sectors and different world markets. Present and future challenges will be addressed.
